Mr. Page’s Newsletter – 02/21/12

1.   State Project packets are due next Thursday, March 1, and presentations will be made on that day. Please note - students will not be allowed to use their packets during their presentation. They must use notes, props, or index cards. These presentations should focus only on the main points (state bird, flower, tree, etc.) and any information the students found interesting. The presentation should last about 5 minutes.  The entire project will count 25% of the nine-week’s grade.  If you have questions, call me or write me a note. I will be happy to clarify or explain. Late projects will be counted off one letter grade per day. Neatness and organization is critical.

2.   Our student of the week is Brady Bibby.  Brady works hard and is very kind and considerate to others. He is responsible, makes good grades, and is a joy to teach. He is especially deserving of this award. Keep up the good work, Brady!

3.   I need to know which students, if any, will need the cafeteria to prepare them a lunch for the field trip on March 2 to Cook’s Science Museum. I need to know that information as soon as possible. Please send me a note letting me know. I will send home the permission slips as soon as they are given to me. Thanks!

4.   Don’t forget Library Night tonight at 6:00 p.m.

5.   We are trying to raise money for the Math-A-Thon fund raiser for St. Jude’s Hospital. Students were given a sheet and a book today. Please read over the form, and if you choose to participate, begin as soon as you like. If you choose to contribute, please make you check out to St. Jude’s and send it in with your child.
